The A. P. Taylor Trust hosted a special evening at the Botwell Social Club in Hayes recently to announce and their community grants. A total of £44,910.00 was awarded to a variety of organisations within the parish of Hayes and Harlington, who work predominantly voluntarily within the local community to improve the conditions of people's lives through social, recreation and leisure time occupations. Grants were awarded ranging from £50 to £6,000. Presenting the awards was local stalwart and former mayor Bert Tyrell. Bert is the chairman of the A. P. Taylor Trust, which was established from the estate of Mr Albert Palmer Taylor, a well-known estate agent in Hayes. During his life, Albert Taylor founded Hayes Rotary Club, was a Conservative councillor and he supported many charities. In death he continues to support his local community and his philanthropic actions are inspirational and far reaching, 40 years on.
